Assistant Relocation Coordinator Role:
The Assistant Relocation Coordinator assists in managing residential tenant households who will be temporarily or permanently displaced as a result of federally funded rehabilitation efforts. Relocation assistance and placement services are eligible to residents in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. The assistant is responsible for communicating with and assisting the coordinator in interfacing regularly with clients, residents, managements teams and vendors. The duties listed below illustrate the various types of work that may be performed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assistant Relocation Coordinator Responsibilities:
Actively engage residents and their support teams in providing advisory services under relocation requirements. Participant in weekly coordination meetings with case management and relocation teams. Meet with clients to review program forms and deliver relocation assistance payments. Conduct individual household assessments and draft eligibility notifications as per the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines. Compile and review lease documentation, move-in costs and other eligible expenses, and income documentation to calculate relocation assistance benefits as per HUD guidelines. Coordinate and process Section 8 benefits as applicable. Ensure compliance with relocation program guidelines and record-keeping procedures. Track contacts with residents and assist with completing program forms. This position requires constant walking and standing throughout the community to perform certain duties of the job. The ideal candidate can manage a hybrid work style, flexible work schedule and able to prioritize their task. Education and Experience Associate degree in business, sociology, or urban development and/or one (1) year experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to fulfill essential position functions. Knowledge and Skills Must have some knowledge of the regulations in the Uniform Relocation Act, 104(d) and Section 18 programs, Housing Choice Voucher Program and other Public Housing and Affordable Housing Initiatives and financing tools. Must have knowledge of the Fair Housing Policy, Fair Market Rent (FMR) and Replacement Housing Calculations and interpret HUD guidelines and Code of Federal regulations. Be able to write reports and business letters with intermediate writing ability using expositions and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech. Must have excellent organizational skills, be self-motivated and detail oriented. Be able to read and interpret regulations on an intermediate level such as reading and explaining lease contracts to residents. Be customer service oriented and able to develop cooperative associations/partnerships. Be able to utilize resources to improve customer satisfaction. Be able to conduct rental market analysis to find comparable housing, accurately appraise housing amenities to determine comparability and negotiate with private market landlords. Good public relation skills are needed to engage community support agencies to assist residents during relocation such as Crisis Ministries, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Agencies. Ability to work well under pressure and in high stress environments. Must be reliable and flexible Ability to work well with people from various demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds in underserved communities. Must have own vehicle Great at taking direction and giving direction Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills Must be capable of managing time wisely and adhering to deadlines Computer skills (SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Dropbox). Supervision Controls The employee receives directions from the Relocation Coordinator and Relocation Manager/Director of Operation of DELCK Group LLC. Courses of action, deadlines and priorities are established by policy, procedure, rule, regulation, depending upon the assignment. The employee has no supervisory responsibility.
