Job Description

The EVP Director EPMO is a senior leader responsible for the strategic oversight, planning and execution of key organizational programs. Direct responsibility for leading, as well as continuous improvement of, the Credit Union’s Information Technology Project Portfolio including Program/Project Management, Quality Assurance, Enterprise Business Systems Analysis and EPMO Governance. Provide oversight and overall direction to portfolio and project teams including VPs and Managers responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of initiatives that support the strategic direction, goals, and objectives of SECU.
Essential Responsibilities:
(Weighted 40%) Promote and align program and project management strategy with overall strategic direction of SECU as laid out by the executive management team and the Board of Directors. Ensure all programs are scalable, sustainable aligned across the organization and meet audit and regulatory requirements. Oversee the progress of programs and projects to ensure successful delivery and execution against overall strategy. (Weighted 20%) Structure, lead and motivate high performing team to deliver projects in an efficient, timely, high quality and cost-effective manner. Staff appropriately and ensure continuous development and retention of talent. Delegate appropriate responsibilities and follow up to determine that work is completed to allow managers to leverage their span of control and to continue to develop within their team. (Weighted 10%) Advance and enable the evolution of standards, processes and tools for project management, execution, quality, transparency, and reporting. Advocate for new ways of working such as Agile to support shifting work environments and improved speed to market. (Weighted 10%) Collaborate with executive leadership and partners across the organization to establish sound prioritization, commitment of resources and subsequent delivery of credit union initiatives. (Weighted 5%) Financial oversight of EPMO departmental budget and spend as well as forecasting, tracking and management of program and project budgets. Enable financial transparency to executive leadership and project sponsors to assist in making funding decisions. (Weighted 5%) Oversight and champion of high performing Quality Assurance team and Business Analysis teams that safeguard the delivery of excellent and stable products to SECU’s production environment and ultimately our members. (Weighted 10%) Implement process improvements and technology enhancements to optimize delivery. Stay abreast of and ensure adherence to current policies, issues and regulations and implement changes in processes to ensure compliance. Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): High School Diploma or GED and 10+ years overseeing large and complex programs in a financial institution or large organization. 10 years of progressive experience in program or project management with at least 5 years at the senior or executive level. Proven ability to lead large, complex initiatives and cross functional teams. Must have advanced management, decision and planning qualities and experience. Requires strong verbal and written communication. Considerable knowledge of people management practices Must be able to collaborate and communicate with SECU team members at all levels, have an overall knowledge of Credit Union services and procedures, and act as a partner and liaison between IS and Business Units. A proven record of dealing with complex projects and meeting conflicting demands. Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Bachelor’s Degree and 10 -15 years direct experience overseeing large and complex programs in a financial institution or large organization. Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PGMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Working knowledge of project management software to include Jira and Microsoft Office as well as Agile and Six Sigma methodologies
