Corresponds directly with the client on process, scope, andequipment to further the project. Communicates project resources,deliverables, and goals/objectives to project team. Manages andplans resources pertaining to a project. Consults with managementon key decisions affecting budget, scope, and schedule. Maintains agood relationship with the customer, engineer, subcontractors, andvendors. Negotiate with suppliers and customers through Procurementand Sales. Delegates tasks in line with project needs anddeadlines. Provides monthly reports covering status, cost vs.budget, percentage complete, etc. Communicates a workingunderstanding of design, construction, and/ or operations oftechnologies/project offerings. Evaluates internal and externalcontracts and interpret language. Responsible for preparing allinternal costing, tax, legal, and risk assessment documentation andobtain approvals. Qualifications
EDUCATION 5
years of experience isrequired for this position in the field of project engineering andmanagement. A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field such as: CivilEngineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering and/or Sciencedegree. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification ishighly desired. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and
EXPERIENCE
Must haveexcellent written communication skills as the employee will berequired to communicate through letters, internal memoranda,published works, written reports and proposals. The successfulcandidate will have experience assigning work to others. Must planprojects on a regular basis. This entails not only planning one’sown work, but scheduling the work of other project team members.
Will have responsibility for the ultimate success or failure of aproject and therefore must plan accordingly to assure a timely andcost effective finish.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES/BEHAVIORS
Assignmentsare received by the employee with timeframes, results expected, andstandard procedures already known. The employee must useindependent judgment at times to make sure the project stays onpace in regards to schedule, quality, and budget. In order to makedecisions and solve problems the successful candidate will have toanalyze and examine varying types of information including projectprogress from others on the project team, the employee’s ownfindings, and data from the worksite. Duties for this position varyfrom the common to the uncommon. Common tasks are often completedby following proven processes and procedures. Uncommon tasks mayrequire the employee to use methods that are outside of thestandard technique or to contact a supervisor for assistance.
Decisions made have the ability to affect company-wide operationsand therefore must be made soundly and correctly. Failure to do socould have drastic financial and legal ramifications for thecompany.
