Job Description

Title:

Project Manager Team Lead Reports to: VP of Operations Summary The Project Manager Team Lead is responsible for leading and overseeing the project management team, including Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators. This role collaborates with sales, design, warehouse, and installation teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and exceed customer expectations. As a player/coach , the PMTL manages smaller projects while guiding the team through larger, more complex initiatives. They also resolve project challenges and work cross-functionally to achieve project goals effectively. Key Responsibilities Recruit, hire, and manage all project management team personnel. Lead, mentor, and develop the project management team to ensure efficiency, consistency, and high performance. Develop and maintain a project schedule outlining deadlines for specifications, construction, order entry, delivery, installation, and moves. Work closely with the Director of Operations and Senior Operations Manager to ensure projects receive pre-install meetings and we deliver/install at a extremely high level. Oversee the company project labor estimator in relations to providing accurate and timely labor quotes for upcoming projects and quotes. Oversee project execution across multiple teams, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. Establish and enforce project management best practices, methodologies, and tools. Collaborate with senior leadership to align project strategies with company objectives. Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Foster cross-departmental collaboration for smooth communication and stakeholder engagement. Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and team capabilities. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and team performance. Manage resource allocation and balance workloads among project managers. Resolve conflicts, remove roadblocks, and ensure teams have the necessary support for success. Meet with sales leadership twice a year to ensure project managers are meeting and/or exceeding expectations. Conduct site visits to evaluate project readiness, strategy, punch items, and provide coordination with outside contractors Plan and lead a monthly Project Manager Team meeting in addition to weekly 1:1 team member meetings. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong leadership, coaching, and team management abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Be available for on-site coordination and resolution of any issues at time of installation. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset. Financial acumen for budget and resource management. Time Allocation (Average 45-hour workweek) 67% (30 hours/week) – Mentoring project management staff, problem-solving, and ensuring project excellence. 10% (4.5 hours/week) – Directly managing smaller or high-priority projects. 10% (4.5 hours/week) – Administrative tasks, including emails, meetings, and customer follow-ups. 13% (6 hours/week) – Site visits to inspect project readiness, progression, and final walkthroughs.
