Utility Assistant Project Manager Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Utility Assistant Project Manager (APM) located in Eastern NC. This full-time position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in utility construction, specifically in wet utilities such as water and sewer systems, and storm drain systems. The ideal candidate will excel in project coordination, field operations, and construction documentation, and be proficient in industry-standard software tools. Responsibilities Assist in managing utility construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. Coordinate and track RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation. Collaborate with field teams and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met. Utilize HeavyBid and HeavyJob for estimating and job cost tracking. Review and mark up plans using Bluebeam. Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6. Prepare and analyze reports using Microsoft Excel. Support compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and inspectors. Essential Skills Minimum 5 years of experience in utility construction, focusing on wet utilities and storm drain systems. Proficiency in HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of RFI and submittal processes. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment This role involves travel to job sites from New Bern to Raleigh, allowing you to live anywhere within that territory and be home every night.
