Research Project Coordinator 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Hanover, NH Position Purpose To support the launching of a new feasibility study in the Department of Epidemiology. In collaboration with project leaders, the Research Project Coordinator will coordinate the implementation and ongoing activities of a feasibility study to identify and test recruitment strategies to improve representation of rural populations and populations disconnected from health care in an intervention to reduce arsenic exposure. Required Qualifications Knowledge of research methodology, protocols, and data collection methods. Ability to implement research and data collection protocols. Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills permitting effective recruitment and interaction with participants; medical, administrative, and laboratory staff at study sites; and other study personnel. Strong organizational skills, an ability to work independently and take initiative, balance competing demands, schedule and plan efficiently, coordinate effectively with participating clinical staff, meet participant recruitment goals, and coordinate with other study personnel. Ability to work well as a team member and to exercise discretion, judgment, tact, and diplomacy. Proficiency and skill with computer databases and software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficiency and skill with REDcap or willingness to be trained. Knowledge of laboratory procedures, research methods, and protocols and/or willingness to be trained. Meticulous attention to detail and confidentiality. Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations. Knowledge of regulations related to the protection of human subjects, informed consent, and working with human specimens.   • 50% Responsible for recruitment/enrollment of study participants remotely and/or in person.

Coordinates, schedules, and completes recruitment activities using established study protocols. Implements the research activities including distribution and completion of surveys, data collection and management, subject identification, recruitment, interviewing, and scheduling. Maintains a high level of research professionalism to maintain participant engagement and retention. Provides education and instruction to participants on informed consent, study materials, collection of samples, measurements, and follow-up processes according to protocols. Conducts necessary follow-up activities as needed and coordinates with laboratory and other study personnel to ensure specimens and measurements are collected, processed, entered into databases, and delivered according to protocol. Enters accurate study data in established databases in a timely manner according to protocols. Coordination

  • 25% Works closely with the principal investigator on the development of, revisions and updates to protocols, study materials, and supplies.

Maintains close communication with the principal investigator and other study staff regarding study progress, processes, and the collection and delivery of samples. Assists with data monitoring and tracking activities, preparation of reports, Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewals and revisions, and coordination of other administrative activities as needed. Coordinates collection and delivery of samples with laboratory staff as needed. Maintains study supplies, equipment, and materials. Data Management

  • 10% Ensures that data are successfully collected and managed. Ensures that participant and data confidentiality is maintained, and data integrity is maintained. Generates pertinent reports on a monthly or as-needed basis. Assists in the organization of study-related protocols on the server. Project Support
  • 10% Coordinates periodic review and update of protocols and assists in preparation of materials for IRB requests and renewals.

Maintains accurate and efficient tracking system for study documents approved by IRB and assures protocol materials are up to date and distributed appropriately. Coordinates mailings for study participants, follows up with staff on missing forms and materials, and maintains a supply of materials for staff. Miscellaneous

  • 5% Other study tasks as needed Adheres to the most current public health recommendations regarding COVID-19, including symptom surveillance, screening questions, and personal protective equipment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
