Job Description The Project Manager II

  • Biomedical Equipment is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing medium to large-scale projects involving the acquisition, installation, integration, and lifecycle management of biomedical equipment and systems.

This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all clinical, regulatory, and technical requirements. The position works closely with Clinical Engineering, Facilities, IT, medical staff, vendors, and external contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage biomedical equipment-related projects from initiation to completion. Coordinate with Clinical Engineering teams on equipment installation, testing, and acceptance. Develop project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Oversee equipment procurement, vendor relations, and contract compliance. Facilitate communication among multidisciplinary stakeholders including clinicians, IT, facilities, and administration. Conduct site assessments, risk analysis, and infrastructure reviews for new equipment deployments. Ensure all work complies with The Joint Commission (TJC), NFPA, AAMI, FDA, and applicable hospital standards. Track project milestones and deliverables using project management tools. Prepare reports and present project updates to leadership and steering committees. Identify and resolve project issues and escalate risks as appropriate. Support capital planning and prioritization of biomedical technology needs. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Science or Technology (preferred). High school diploma or GED required PMP Certification or equivalent project management certification (preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare technology management, clinical engineering, or biomedical project coordination.
