Project Manager/Estimator Job Description Join a leading Heavy Civil construction firm renowned for delivering complex infrastructure projects such as roadways, bridges, utilities, and site development. As a Project Manager/Estimator, you will play a vital role in overseeing all phases of heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction to completion while preparing accurate cost estimates for bids. This dual role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective management of budgets, schedules, and client relationships. Responsibilities Manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects from inception to completion. Prepare accurate cost estimates for project bids. Lead project teams to ensure timely and on-budget delivery. Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships. Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality control. Interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in project management and/or estimating. Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, or similar. Proficiency in project management tools like Procore or MS Project. Strong understanding of heavy civil construction techniques including earthwork, paving, utilities, and concrete work. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts. Additional Skills & Qualifications PMP, CCM, or similar certifications are a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and teams. Valid driver’s license. Work Environment Work within a Heavy Civil Construction Environment with typical hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
