Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for, but notlimited to, managing all requirements for Civil and Constructionprojects including change orders, submittals, procurement, projectfinancial set-up, project financial updates, and project scheduleto ensure projects are completed in a quality, profitable, safe andtimely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience with HeavyCivil Construction or CCR (Coal Combustion Residuals) on a civilconstruction site.
Location & Travel Details:
This is alocation-based position encompassing worksites throughout theassigned project area and requires an average of 50% of travel. Acompany vehicle and fuel card will be provided. Per diem will beprovided to cover travel expenses (meals and lodging).

Responsibilities:
Maintainsa constant focus on meeting/exceeding client needs and expectationsin all aspects of assigned projects. Plans, organizes and staffskey field positions working with organizational / divisionleadership . Establishes project objectives , policies, proceduresand performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
Initiates and maintains liaison with client , subcontractors andvendors to facilitate construction activities. Monitors/controlsconstruction through administrative direction of on-siteSuperintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and withinbudget; investigates potentially serious situations and implementscorrective measures. Represents C ompany in meetings, assists inlabor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc. Manages financialaspects of contracts, (fee payment, rental equipment,income/expenses, etc.) to project C ompany’s’ interest whilesimultaneously maintain ing good relationship s with client,subcontractors and vendors . Coordinates project activities asassigned. Includes planning and coordinating departmentalactivities with others, resolving problem areas, ensuring all Company project policies, procedures and standards are maintainedthroughout the course of a project . Maintains liaison with client,subcontractors and vendors to ensure construction activitiessupport project schedule and various client requirements.
Represents C ompany at project meetings with client,subcontractors, vendors , etc., as required . Interprets projectdesign/drawings for crafts installing materials. Coordinatesproject material deliveries and subcontractor needs as needed.
Researches and resolves drawing interpretation problems, conflicts,interference’s , and the like . Prepares and submits field designchange requisitions and “as built” drawings, as required . Prepares(or directs the preparation of) and disseminates all requireddocumentation records such as status reports, punch lists,describing work items to be done, sketches of work alreadycompleted, material requirement calculations, etc. May providesupervision and/or technical direction, (i.e., printinterpretations, design intent, construction feasibility), toengineers, crafts, and/or superintendent assigned to area of workto ensure work is completed in proper sequence. Presents designdiscrepancies to engineer or engineering management forresolution-prepares documentation (field design change requests,beyond normal scope reports, etc.), as required . Performsnecessary building control lines and elevations for accuratemeasurement and correct installation of material. Monitors andverifies construction progress to p repare monthly billings basedon contractual agreements and amount of work completed. Assists inscheduling service and maintenance on equipment at jobsite in orderto reduce downtime and achieve the lowest possible operating costs.
Assists in equipment scheduling using available resource tooptimize utilization of equipment and rental resources aseconomically as possible. Assists in planning o f the workflow andequipment mix at the project to ensure production can be achievedat the lowest possible operating cost. Coordinate allsafety-related specific activities as recommended by CorporateSafety Manager, including compliance with Safety Data Sheets ,Personal Protective Equipment, protection/coordination of Healthand Safety Plan and client/consumer requirements. Performsadditional assignments per Division Manager’s request .
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelorof Science in Civil Engineering , Project Management, ConstructionManagement or equivalent related field of study . Minimum of 5years previous experience in an equivalent position
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Proficiency with all necessarytechnological tools, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel,PowerPoint , and Outlook with the ability to use other software asnecessary. Proficiency in Hard Dollar, Bid Build, Heavy Build orsimilar construction estimating software. Proficiency in MSProject, Primavera or similar construction scheduling software.
Understanding of civil engineering design and construction methodsand industry standards. Knowledge of mass grading and earthwork,stream restoration and rehabilitation, stormwater management,erosion control, and utility infrastructure requirements.
Experience with job costing, scheduling and estimating contractchanges. Must be able to apply innovative and effective managementtechniques to maximize project performance. Meticulous attention todetail, high capacity for multi-tasking, strong work ethicExceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability toread and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability tospeak effectively before clients, management, subcontractors andvendors of the organization. Ability to define problems, collectdata, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able toeffectively organize numerous streams of information. Ability tomanage multiple priorities. Ability to meet deadlines.
