This would entail preparing information regarding financial profitability, expense analysis / allocations, etc. Overseeing and leading of department initiatives related to revenue generation, annual budget process, and various adhoc projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Help identify and analyze new ways to understand underlying Firm profitability, including development of business models for practice areas of the Firm Assist and support key strategic initiatives in the Firm with financial modeling and data mining analysis Develop new approaches to integrate information from multiple sources to improve the ability of decision makers to have access to critical business intelligence Provide system support related to the extracting and loading of data across aggregate storage system Prepare impactful visual presentations of complex data to facilitate decision making Weekly, monthly and annual preparation of standard management reports as well as any ad-hoc analytical requests from management Assist in managing the annual budget and reforecast process together with preparing related summary analyses and presentation Performs monthly detailed expense analyses between actuals vs budgets of departments, offices and projects within the Firm including explanation for the variances Work and communicate with Branch Office / Department Heads as a Finance liaison to improve analysis of financial information Manage project improvement initiatives involving coordination of efforts between multiple departments In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm’s information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management. Qualifications Knowledge of SQL and Law Firm database structure Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Oracle Hyperion Essbase Knowledge of various information technology / accounting systems (experience with Elite 3E is a plus) Comprehensive analytical and problem solving skills including profitability, cost accounting and financial modeling experience Strong and proven project management skills, written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, business writing Proactive and results oriented with excellent organizational skills Ability to deal with all levels of firm personnel and client contacts Ability to work in a team environment and independently Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree (preferable Finance or Accounting) with at least five years of experience in a senior capacity. Experience gained in the legal industry is preferred. Compensation The base salary range offered for this role will be between $130,000 and $160,000. When determining a candidate’s compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm. The total compensation package for this position may include overtime pay, discretionary bonuses and other benefits.
