12 month assignment with extension potential
3 days in the office (either NY or LA) Manager, Music Content As part of the Music team in North America, you will support clients music content teams by managing and coordinating internal cross-functional projects, with a specific focus on tracking licensing and publishing clearances, external partner communication and troubleshooting. This includes managing content release schedules, project databases, and processes in collaboration with Music Partnerships, Licensing, Go-To-Market, Commercial Partnerships, Content Ops, and the Rights and Clearances team, acting as the central point of contact between Music Content and internal departments and external partners to achieve successful content availability. For this role, we seek an outstanding candidate with experience navigating complex project management, rights and clearances, exemplary organizational skills, the ability to coordinate across multiple projects simultaneously, working knowledge of artificial intelligence tools and confidence in representing the Music Content organization to key internal stakeholders.
Serve as a key liaison across internal teams and external partners, communicating content clearance status, product requirements, metadata deliverables, and troubleshooting on an ongoing basis.
Create, integrate and maintain tracking systems to track content licensing and publishing clearances and availability.
Create and manage escalation processes for content opportunities.
Proactively identify and escalate issues related to content availability including rights and clearances to ensure content availability.
Conduct regular research to verify rights and clearance status for priority content.
Navigate, produce and lead communication processes with cross-functional team members, especially Rights & Clearances, to facilitate deliverables and manage expectations with external stakeholders.
Develop and manage documents, comms and resources addressing partner product and content questions and availability.
Collaborate with senior team members to evaluate and improve tracking systems, optimize workflows, and scale operational efficiency.
Represent clients Music Content team internally in cross-functional meetings, project syncs, and working groups.
Document key meeting takeaways and action items with clarity and precision.
Produce recurring reports to leadership summarizing content availability, escalated issues and more.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment and execution across departments.

Required skills:

You have 4+ years of experience in content operations, partner management, project management, and/or rights and clearances, ideally within the music or entertainment industry.
You are a passionate music fan who is deeply attuned to a wide range of genres, artist communities, and global music cultures.
You have a solid understanding of the music industry, including label, management, and publishing ecosystems, and familiarity with the key players and trends across both major and independent sectors.
You have experience working with licensing and publishing dynamics, and are comfortable navigating rights-related databases.
You excel in stakeholder communications and have experience leading cross-functional conversations with internal teams and external partners.
Youre highly organized, with a proven ability to manage complex tracking systems, recurring reporting, and issue escalation processes.
You are confident producing and managing documentation, including internal reports, partner-facing resources, and operational communications.
You are solutions-oriented and thrive in fast-paced environments, adapting quickly to shifting priorities with a calm and focused approach.
You demonstrate operational rigor and exceptional attention to detail, ensuring deadlines are met and cross-functional alignment is maintained.
You proactively identify and implement process improvements and can drive independent problem-solving with limited oversight.
You are open to feedback and collaborate effectively across disciplines, maintaining transparency, clarity, and accountability in all interactions.
You are comfortable with technology and leverage tools – including emerging platforms and artificial intelligence – to improve workflow and scalability.
You are based in New York City or Los Angeles and available to work from the office three times per week.
