As a member of our Structures team in our Pittsburgh office, you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic structural pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation and participating in projects across Pennsylvania and within RK&K’s overall service area. You should have PennDOT experience, be highly proactive, able to develop creative technical solutions, have a strong understanding of structural operations and hands-on experience with bridge design and field operations.
Essential FunctionLead our structural design and engineering group in western Pennsylvania with development and delivery of structural assignmentsParticipate in Business Development and Marketing to secure future clients and workloadProvide structural expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contract documents for construction followed by construction administration with respect to the structural aspects of the projectServe as Project Manager on a variety of structure related projectsFacilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plansDirect project staff and sub-consultantsServe as liaison between client and firmExecute QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design workProvide engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering fieldHire, train, and mentor entry level and junior level structural engineersRequired Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s in Civil or Structural EngineeringTen (10) or more years of bridge design experienceExcellent communication skills including proposal developmentProfessional Engineer (P.E.) in PennsylvaniaExperience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), PennDOT Districts 10-0, 11-0, 12-0, the City of Pittsburgh, and Allegheny CountyPreferred Skills and ExperienceMasters degree in Structural EngineeringOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
