Job SummaryThe role of the Project Manager is to support client initiatives in creating prototype and production parts by aligning project requirements with company profitability. This position will have proficient knowledge of prototyping processes in order to understand client expectations and coordinate work within several departments. The ability to develop strong relationships, communicate effectively, and keep work organized will be crucial for success. This position will operate in a fast paced, demanding, yet rewarding environment.
Essential FunctionsServe as clients’ main point of contact for prototyping and production needs via email, phone, video conference and/or in personResearch, question, and understand customer needs to determine project achievabilityRecommend best combination of materials and processes based on project, budget, and timeframe requirementsPrepare quotes by studying 2D prints, CAD files, and other documentation; consult with technical personnel to confirm quote specifications as neededBe proficient in all locations capabilities to provide clients with the best possible solutions.
Utilize effective pricing strategies to meet company revenue and profitability goalsManage client timeframes in conjunction with the production schedulesMonitor manufacturing progress, identify the need for issue escalation, recommend alternative solutionsVerify completed projects against predetermined quality standards to ensure customer satisfactionMaintain internal systems and project documentation in an organized, electronic mannerEvaluate third party vendors and coordinate outsourcing needsMaintain strong business relationships with key decision makers and influencers within assigned accounts; use networking skills to grow contact portfolio within assigned accountsArrange client visits on or off site as needed to present company services and capabilities and secure business opportunities.

Education and Experience:
Degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Design, or related field required2 – 4 years’ experience in traditional and additive manufacturing required3+ years’ experience in project management within the manufacturing industry preferred3+ years’ experience in customer service in related technology or manufacturing industry preferred3+ years’ experience in sales and/or marketing preferredPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentAbility to sit for extended periods of timeAbility to use hands and fingers to operate computer and handle/feel small and large partsAbility to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focusAbility to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally throughout work weekNoise conditions in production areas can be moderate to extreme, PPE required and providedProduction areas may contain fumes or airborne particles, PPE provided upon request
Work Hours/Travel:
1st shift work schedule, Monday – FridayRemote work available upon approval and completion of trainingLocal and overnight travel 10% or less
