Job Title:

Field Supervisor – Commercial Audio/Video Installations Carolina Sound Communications is a locally owned and operated company serving Charleston SC and Myrtle Beach SC. Carolina Sound focuses on commercial audio visual , music, and quick serve systems.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Field Supervisor to oversee and manage on-site commercial audio/video (AV) installation projects. This role is responsible for leading field teams, ensuring quality installation and integration of AV systems, maintaining project timelines and budgets, and serving as a primary on-site liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the day-to-day field operations of AV installation projects. Ensure installation work is performed to industry standards, company specifications, and client expectations. Monitor job site progress, quality, and safety compliance. Coordinate daily activities and ensure crews are properly equipped and informed. Warehouse Inventory and cleanliness Maintaining labor Team Leadership Direct and mentor installation technicians and subcontractors on-site. Provide technical guidance and support when needed. Conduct training and evaluations for installation staff. Client Communication Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients, contractors, and vendors. Communicate schedule updates, technical issues, and change orders to Office scheduler Participate in on-site client meetings and walkthroughs. Technical Expertise Read and interpret AV system drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Ensure proper rack building, wiring, display mounting, audio tuning, and control system installation. Troubleshoot and resolve system integration issues in the field. Documentation & Reporting Maintain detailed daily reports, field notes, and as-built documentation. Track labor hours, materials usage, and jobsite incidents. Assist with commissioning and punch list completion.

Qualifications:

3-5+ years of experience in commercial AV installation; prior supervisory experience preferred. Strong understanding of AV systems including video walls, projection, distributed audio, control systems (Crestron, Biamp, Extron, Q-SYS, etc.), and video conferencing (Zoom, Teams, Webex). Ability to read and interpret construction documents and signal flow diagrams. Proficiency in basic hand and power tools, test equipment, and installation hardware. OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred).

AVIXA CTS

certification a plus. Valid driver’s license , healthy driving record. and willingness to travel to various job sites to include Charleston , Myrtle beach , Savannah Georgia, and surrounding areas. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Work Environment:

Primarily field-based role on commercial construction and renovation sites. May involve occasional work at height (ladders, lifts) and lifting to 50 lbs. Variable hours depending on project needs; occasional overnight travel may be required.

Salary :

$72,000 annually with bonus opportunity.
