Project Controls Specialist (JK667) Fulcrum Staffing Charleston, SC 29405 Project Controls Specialist (JK667) The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and managing the control systems that drive the successful execution of complex civil marine construction projects. Using Procore as the primary project management platform, this role ensures the coordination of cost, schedule, change management, reporting, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of marine construction processes and demonstrate technical proficiency in project controls and analytics. Key Responsibilities Training & Process Control Provide hands-on training to engineers and project teams on Procore modules: RFIs, submittals, drawings, daily logs, change events, and budget tracking. Develop and enforce standardized project controls procedures, ensuring consistent practices across all job sites. Audit workflows for completeness, timeliness, and accuracy—taking corrective action or providing additional training as needed. Contract Procurement & Insurance Coordination Assist project managers and executives in contract award packages, including scope alignment, vendor setup, and commitment entries in Procore.
Support subcontractor onboarding:
confirm compliance with insurance requirements, lien waivers, and bonding needs. Collaborate with legal/risk management and insurance brokers to maintain project-specific insurance documentation and certificates. Project Documentation & Field Coordination Oversee RFI, submittal, and drawing processes to ensure complete logs, proper routing, and adherence to schedules. Manage drawing updates and distributions to ensure field crews operate with the latest versions. Support subcontractor and supplier communication for timely submission of project documents and compliance tracking. Financial Controls & Forecasting Maintain and track project budgets, commitments, change orders, and forecasts within Procore. Coordinate with the Controller on cost coding, invoice matching, accruals, and monthly job cost projections. Analyze and report on earned value, productivity trends, and margin impact. Lead Monthly Project Reviews Prepare and lead monthly project review meetings with the President and Controller. Compile financial and operational data, including: o Actual vs. forecasted cost o Change order status o Risk exposure o Billing schedules and cash flow forecasts Recommend corrective actions and highlight areas requiring executive decisions or intervention. Reporting & Analytics Develop dashboards and custom reports from Procore data for executive-level visibility.
