Design Consultant
Greenville, SC, US
:
The Design Consultant is responsible for collecting and analyzing designs for construction that meet business requirements and budget limitations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate and assemble design selections from external buyer selections.
Meet with Designers as necessary to facilitate design information, spec home selections, or clarify Buyer selections.
Conference with Buyers when needed to obtain selections, signatures, missing or clarify conflicting information.
Transfer, review, and proof selection information and specification detail on internal tracking sheets for distribution to Trades, Project Managers, and internal users.
Prepare ‘Look Books’ — a professionally formatted review of all home selections for Buyer.
Coordinate creation and proof of plan elevation renderings for marketing use.
Manage quotes and specification detail requests from trades associated with customized design selections –i.e.

Cabinets, Flooring, Countertops, Lighting, and Plumbing Fixtures.
Review proposals for accuracy-related to specifications, color selections, or previous revision requests.
Prepare executed proposals, create
Purchase Orders and manage facilitation in Builder PO/Scheduling system (BuildPro).
Post and maintain the most current selections and specification details to BuildPro for Project Manager and Trade use.
Miscellaneous office tasks — routine filing, scanning, and copying as necessary.
Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

Residential homebuilding or retail design center and/or construction coordinator experience is strongly preferred.
Experience reading and interpreting architectural plans, scopes of work, specifications, and design diagrams is highly beneficial.
Experience in Construction / P.O. driven software –i.e. Newstar, Sage, Buildsoft, FAST, and BuildPro would be beneficial.
Strong interpersonal and technical skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities or projects are highly desired.
Ability to interact well with multiple external end users.
Available to work onsite Mon-Fri 8:30-5:30 with occasional Saturday availability as needed. Exceptional communication skills — both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and time management skills
Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
A valid Driver’s License is required
