JOB SUMMARY
Serves as Project Manager II for the Clemson University Center for Addiction and Mental Health Research (CAMHR) in the College of Behavioral, Social, and Health Sciences. With limited supervision, manages administrative projects and related communications activities, and coordinates research projects for the center. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES
Administration and Project Management -60 % Oversees budgeting and reporting requirements for CAMHR grants, projects, and other activities. Provide supervision for CAMHR staff as assigned, which may include research and administrative assistants, student workers, and grant program manager I positions. Engages in project management tasks to ensure success of CAMHR activities, including organizing and facilitating meetings, making project related presentations, facilitating partner collaborations, invoicing and accounting, and ensuring program adherence to timelines and grant requirements. May delegate tasks to assigned CAMHR staff and manage task completion. Ensures effective partnership and project coordination between CAMHR, Prisma Health Addiction Medicine Center, and SC Center of Excellence in Addiction. Manages implementation of technical assistance projects and activities for the center. E/60% Research – 20%
Assists with project proposal development to pursue external funding from the South Carolina Opioid Settlement Funds and other local, state, and federal agencies including NIH, NIDA, NIAAA, SAMHSA, and CDC. Facilitates collaborations among CBSHS faculty members, community organizations, and other academic partners (including University of South Carolina, Medical University of South Carolina, Furman University, Prisma Health) to develop successful grant proposals and implement research projects on behalf of Clemson faculty. Works with CAMHR to coordinate mental health and substance use research projects, including epidemiology, surveillance, community-based initiatives, service provision, prevention programming, program evaluation, and intervention. This can include data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation for publication in scientific journals. E/20% Collaboration & Communications – 20 %
Assists with promoting the visibility of CAMHR, including coordinating seminars, conferences, meetings, professional development activities and events, and communications. Coordinates meeting facilitation, preparation, planning, and follow-up as needed. Coordinates Center marketing projects such as website updates, newsletter, dissemination of CAMHR accomplishments and funding opportunities. Collects and maintains data on faculty affiliates and partners, and assists with matching individuals with CAMHR opportunities. Coordinates collaboration with accomplished scholars across the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences. E/20%
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree along with experience. Experience managing large projects of moderate complexity and risk.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Addiction Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Health Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology. Or combination of educ & exp. 2 years – Addiction or Mental Health Education, Public Health, Research Management / Administration, Project Management, Social Work

Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work. No fiscal responsibility for the department’s budget.

Expected Salary Range:
$ 68,397.00 – $ 80,000) Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.

Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives,
and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
