Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Manager to oversee industrial electrical projects from planning through execution. This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, project leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage budgets, teams, and timelines effectively. The Electrical Project Manager will ensure all work meets quality, safety, and code compliance standards while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Electrical Project Manager Columbia, South Carolina Project types: Commercial (education, k-12, retail, hospitality) Key Responsibilities Plan and manage all phases of electrical projects including design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning. Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work. Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and other relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, vendors, utility providers, and site supervisors to meet project requirements. Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve technical challenges. Conduct site inspections and monitor project progress to ensure quality control and adherence to scope. Lead and mentor project staff, electricians, and subcontractors to ensure high-performance execution. Manage change orders, documentation, and reporting requirements. Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5+ years of experience managing electrical projects in industrial settings. Proficiency with electrical systems, blueprints, and construction documents. Solid understanding of electrical codes, permitting processes, and safety compliance. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams. Experience with construction management software is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to travel to and oversee job sites as needed. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. in field environments.
