This position is located is in the Chief of Staff/ Project Team III Office located at SCDMV Headquarters, Blythewood, SC. Responsibilities of the Project Coordinator Leads small to medium size projects by supervising, managing, and coordinating project teams, activities and meetings. Assembles and leads cross-functional agency project teams. Ensures routine monitoring of performance indicators and assessment of project progress and participates in periodic updates with agency leaders to shared understanding and drive agency-level decisions while aligning with the agency’s

Documents/Records Project status/Progress by tracking metrics and assisting the project manager/project team in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) development to support assigned projects and their alignment to the agency Strategic Plan (STRATPLAN) and Information Management Office (IMO). Maintains lesson learned and risk registers, and ensures risk mitigation strategies/control measures are implemented. Maintains/updates SharePoint site/portal, Project Management (PM) tools, PM documents, and develops and refines Scopes of Work (SOW). Maintains project timeline by coordinating and deconflicting project timelines, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), resources, and by protecting the critical path, while incorporating basic prioritization and backwards planning techniques and concepts. Coordinate project meetings by assisting the PM with facilitating meetings/briefings, preparing/updating briefs and meeting materials, and by deconflicting calendars/schedules. Demonstrates basic project management principles and methods. Records meeting minutes, due outs, and updates from meetings/briefings. Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by identifying and capturing lessons learned through best practices, industry standards, and subject matter experts to recommend and incorporate improvements increasing efficiency and effectiveness of PM processes, assigned projects, and the project team. Seeks further development and improvements of own PM knowledge and skills. Performs other duties related to project management as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements Minimum Requirements High school diploma and relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted with prior approval. Agency Requirements Two (2) or more years of experience managing the lifecycle of multiple projects. Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing. Additional Requirements Knowledge of the agency’s mission, strategic goals and operational programs. Basic understanding of project management principles, and methodologies. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to manage work, delegate work with assignment of appropriate priorities, and provide guidance and direction to project teams. Ability to communicate effectively to include making presentations and preparing reports. Ability to conceptualize needed change and initiate appropriate change management and process improvement activities. Knowledge of state government procedures and processes. Responsible for managing small to medium size project teams and assisting the Project Manager with the team’s assigned projects. Works with the Project Manager with minimal to moderate supervision to oversee, manage and direct agency-wide initiatives and projects as well as coordinate the efforts of the project teams and ensure all documents are maintained and updated. May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled workday. May require limited travel. Works in a climate-controlled environment. Preferred Qualifications Agency Preferred Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification highly desired.
