Custodial Services Job Summary:

The Project Manager for Custodial Services oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of custodial operations across assigned facilities. This role ensures cleanliness standards are met, manages custodial teams, maintains client satisfaction, and ensures compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:

Oversee daily custodial operations to ensure facilities meet cleanliness, health, and safety standards. Develop and implement cleaning schedules and workflows. Ensure proper use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and materials. Oversee daily custodial operations such as stripping/waxing floors, commercial pressure washing, and carpet cleaning.

Team Supervision:

Recruit, train, and manage custodial staff. Assign duties and monitor staff performance. Conduct regular inspections and provide feedback.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

Act as the primary point of contact for clients or facility managers. Respond promptly to service requests or concerns. Ensure client satisfaction through regular updates and reporting.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

Assist in budget preparation, monitor labor, and supply costs. Manage inventory of custodial supplies and order as needed.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with contract standards and quality benchmarks. Implement corrective actions when necessary.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular safety meetings and trainings.

Project Planning and Reporting:

Develop and execute custodial service plans for new or existing sites. Prepare reports on productivity, inspections, incidents, and other KPIs.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 3+ years of experience in custodial or facilities services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role. Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and work order systems (e.g., CMMS). Bilingual (English/Spanish) may be preferred depending on workforce.
