Position Summary Environmental Project Manager RSI is seeking a Project Manager as part of our Environmental Services Team to manage a variety of investigation and remediation projects on the Department of Energy (DOE) Oak Ridge Reservation. The successful candidate will be responsible for following the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) remedy process from Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study to Record of Decision (ROD) and post-ROD remedy implementation. This includes managing the cost and schedule for the development of decision documents, field implementation of well drilling and data collection, and reporting to stakeholders of project progress. The ideal candidate will have some experience with project management, field investigations, contaminated groundwater characterization methodologies, risk assessment, conceptual model development, and groundwater remediation technologies on a federal site. Primary Responsibilities Utilizes the earned value management system and/or project management principles to manage projects schedules and costs to ensure on-time delivery to the DOE customer. Prepares and peer reviews remedial investigation/design/action work plans, annual reports, and remedial action completion reports. Works with environmental technical team and specialty subcontractors to design and evaluate removal or remedial actions. This includes establishing the boundaries of removal/remedial actions and confirming that the actions have been performed in accordance with the decision document. Facilitates the Data Quality Objective (DQO) process for remedial investigation or action projects, leading multidisciplinary teams in identifying data gaps and subsequently developing a work plan that addresses those data needs. Evaluates data generated by field activities t o provide detailed interpretations of subsurface stratigraphy/structure , groundwater flow conditions, and nature and extent of contamination. Works closely with field sampling and well drilling teams to ensure data are collected in accordance with work plans. Mentors junior environmental scientists through regular interactions and peer review of their work products. Regularly presents to and collaborates with DOE clients, regulatory agencies and other DOE contractors. Required Education B.S. or M.S. in Geosciences, Environmental Science or related physical science/engineering Desired Qualifications 5+ experience in CERCLA investigation and/or remediation Strong technical writing and presentation skills Familiarity with human health and/or ecological risk assessments Clearance and Health Regiments Criminal Background Check Pre-placement Drug Screening This position requires a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card; or a U.S. passport as long as it clearly displays issuance date, expiration date, and color photo image.
