Essential Functions Establish and maintain communication with clients to facilitate projects and services Assist in completing a “go/no go” evaluation to determine the feasibility of engaging in client proposed projects Develop project parameters and communicate parameters to relevant staff Assist with the preparation of technical proposals Prepare quotes for services, task orders, or statements of work per client needs Identify potential problems and work proactively with the Client, QA, and laboratory staff to avoid or overcome them Assist clients with sampling requirements including—but not limited to—container, preservation and sample volume Coordinate with third-party providers for analyses not performed by MCLinc Coordinate sample shipping as required Provide client support for data interpretation and evaluation Review data and coordinate with the Quality Department and laboratory staff to ensure robust data quality Prepare and/or contribute to project reports Additional Functions Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours Perform other duties as required Minimum Training & Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in a science field plus three (3) years of related experience are necessary to be hired for this position. An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position may be considered. Specialized Knowledge Successful completion of Radiation Worker 2 training as provided by MCLinc and other training as required Competencies Ability to work in a position of moderate complexity Typically responsible for regularly exercising judgment and for solving difficult problems and occasionally responsible for solving complex problems Responsible for maintaining MCLINC and customer confidentiality and ensuring the position’s operational responsibilities are met Effectively manages work time; effect of errors likely result in moderate financial loss and minimal to moderate damage to MCLinc’s reputation Typically responsible for solving somewhat difficult problems Articulate communication of moderately complex information and direct the work of others Demonstrate ability to perform functions in one or more areas outside of the position’s primary area by successfully performing selected tasks in the non-primary area(s) because of training provided by MCLinc or an external training provider and to provide informal mentoring to other MCLinc employees Ability to complete quality reviews of others’ work product/service and ensure necessary reports and other evidence of quality are completed before delivery of product/service to the customer; responsible for communicating and discussing results with appropriate client point(s) of contact Demonstrate ability to maintain MCLinc and customer confidentiality Regularly uses typical office equipment such as a multi-line phone, photocopier, and calculator Regularly uses computer equipment such as a desktop computer and printer; and typical business software such as word processing, spreadsheet, and email software programs Physical Requirements The Project Manager will engage in occasional periods of light physical activity. Occupational Hazards The position does not perform under hazardous conditions; responsible for maintaining a safe personal workspace, no overtime or work outside of normal work hours is anticipated
