Full Job Description Description:

Overview KCDC is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced project manager who shares our passion for public service. This is an exciting opportunity to join us on several major initiatives that will change the Knoxville landscape while helping to further KCDC’s mission to provide the highest quality affordable housing. Under the direction of the Chief Strategy Officer, you will provide project management and coordination to take dynamic projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management methodologies, excellent communication skills, a passion for delivering results, and empathy for service. Projects will range in topics including social service partnerships, neighborhood development, community engagement, and capital fundraising mostly through grant writing. Immediate projects include working with partners for the benefit of youth exiting foster care, veterans, and elderly.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning:

Provide project management for ongoing and new opportunities to ensure that all activities are conducted in a timely manner, within scope and funding, and meet quality expectations. This includes the development of detailed project plans, including scope, timeline, resources, and budget.

Team Leadership:

Coordinate cross-functional teams, providing guidance and support to ensure project milestones are met.

Stakeholder Management:

Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.

Risk Management and Quality Assurance:

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success while ensuring that project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.

Reporting:

Prepare and present regular status reports, reports, briefs, and evaluations to management and project stakeholders.

Budget Management:

Monitor project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints. Requirements:

To be effective in this role you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Urban Planning or a related field and at least 4 years of job related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience requiring similar knowledge, skills, abilities, and performing duties as described may be substituted for the minimum requirements. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana) or the ability to learn quickly. Willingness to serve and learn from the community through the work at KCDC Ability to create timelines and effectively manage schedules to meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong organizational and multitasking skills Please submit a cover letter, resume, and at least three references.
