Purpose of Classification Responsible for performing a variety of construction, property development and supportive functions which include, but are not limited to; project programming, budget development and monitoring, construction and specification review, code compliance, contractual compliance, scheduling, and acting as a liaison between clients, architects, engineers, general contractors, and local, state, and federal agencies on projects. Essential Functions Individual will report to the Director of Property Development, and work closely with the PBA Property Development and Property Management teams in a construction-related capacity. Assists in the development and management of project programs and budgets. Assists in reviewing project proposals and plans to determine project schedules, funding limitations, procedures, and allotment of resources to various phases of projects. Provides technical advice and assistance, as required. Oversees the design and construction of various project types. Acts as an Owners Representative on multiple projects, as the department’s project load requires. Attends design and construction meetings for projects. Manages owner-provided scopes of work on projects. Education & Experience Requirements A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, architecture, construction management, or equivalent eld. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in project management, construction, design, or related industry. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with the public. Working knowledge of organizational computer operations. Ability to analyze problems and take appropriate remedial action. Ability to make decisions independently or to oer alternatives to achieve supervisor and department objectives. Ability to analyze contract terms and specifications, and evaluate contract compliance. Physical Abilities Walk up to two (2) miles daily Climb steps and ladders at construction sites. Operate a vehicle to visit the construction sites. Sit for extended periods on a regular basis. Differentiate colors and shades of color. Special Qualifcations Must have no felony convictions.
