Compliance Specialist to support the development, rehabilitation, and management of affordable housing projects that are financed through USDA Rural Development (RD) and HUD programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and managing comprehensive RD paper documentation, ensuring full compliance with federal housing guidelines. Duties Prepare and submit required RD documentation for USDA-financed multifamily housing projects. Coordinate with HUD for environmental reviews, Davis-Bacon wage reporting , and layered funding compliance. Compile and maintain documents including Form RD 3560 series, rent comparability studies, utility allowances, capital needs assessments, and relocation plans . Assist with the development of Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans and ensure ongoing compliance. Collaborate with development, property management, and legal teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met. Track and respond to agency requests, approvals, and deadlines. Maintain organized files and records for audits, reviews, and reporting. Manage all aspects of property operations, including tenant relations, leasing, and maintenance coordination. Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other legal requirements related to property management. Prepare and execute contracts with vendors and service providers while maintaining positive relationships. Conduct regular property inspections to ensure high standards of maintenance and cleanliness. Handle tenant inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, utilizing effective phone etiquette. Maintain accurate records through data entry for tenant applications, lease agreements, and maintenance requests. Implement upselling strategies for available units to maximize occupancy rates. Collaborate with the leasing team to develop marketing strategies that attract potential tenants. Assist in budget preparation and financial reporting related to property management activities. Skills Strong knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and LIHTC compliance. Proficient in contract negotiation and legal administrative tasks. Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records. Effective phone etiquette for professional communication with tenants and vendors.
