Job Description

Residential Manager are responsible for the selection, training, scheduling, and supervision of residential staff while ensuring quality, ethical services in accordance with DDS and agency policies. Managers spend time on all shifts providing coaching, feedback, and ensuring staff interactions promote dignity, growth, and respect. You will also oversee the implementation of individualized care and behavioral support plans and may be required to provide direct care when needed. Responsibilities:

Responsible for the selection, training, scheduling, and direct management of employees and the overall team. Ensure ethical implementation of supports and quality services in accordance with all DDS and NEPS policies and procedures. Respond to emergency situations, health-related issues, and unexpected interruptions. Ensure employees meet training requirements and attend all mandatory trainings and meetings. Maintain flexibility in daily routines, site assignments, and work hours. Serve as a positive role model and represent both yourself and the agency in a positive, professional manner at all times. Teach and guide your team on how to effectively: assist residents with intellectual/developmental disabilities in activities of daily living. Implement prescribed teaching, care, and behavioral support plans. Provide safe and consistent supervision of residents based on individualized supervision guidelines and behavior support plans. Deliver care and services in a climate of normalization, dedication, caring, and concern. Ensure activities and interactions foster growth and development to each individual’s highest level of accomplishment. Spend ad equate time in residential facilities to: monitor staff interactions with residents/ provide feedback to staff across all three shifts. Fill in for direct care personnel when needed and participate in the on-call rotation. Perform direct care duties when necessary.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or GED required; college courses in Human Services and/or Social Work preferred 2 years of experience in providing supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities or related field Flexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed Must have and maintain a vailed driver’s license with 3+ years of driving history Must maintain reliable transportation with current insurance in employee’s name Ability to lift over 40 pounds Ability to pass a background check and DDS Registry check Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team First Aid, CPR, State of CT DDS Medication Certification, sign language, and/or computer knowledge a plus Ability to attend mandatory agency trainings and meetings with a week’s notice
