•Closes April 27th, 2025•This class manages, directs, coordinates, and supervises the daily activities of a community corrections or confinement program, and supervises program related personnel. This is a “mandatory-testing” position that requires Drug Testing.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations Manages the activities of the community corrections or confinement program, which includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards Represents the department in a variety of court proceedings; assists judges, attorneys, defendants, and/or other applicable parties with questions or situations which arise during court proceedings Receives, processes, and prepares new cases received from the State attorney; assigns case numbers; verifies information provided on referrals Develops contract conditions utilizing established standards Oversees, supervises, and reviews defendant case files; ensures appropriate documentation is available; establishes court ordered conditions in collaboration with defendant and juridical courts Manages the maintenance and administration of caseloads and program activities; reviews related reports and makes adjustments to employee caseloads as appropriate Confers with and maintains liaison with County management, law enforcement representatives, judicial officials, the courts, community service agencies, educational systems, and/or other public and private organizations Controls the issuance of affidavits, warrants, and revocations for probation and/or bond violators Prepares and administers budget; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; submits justifications for budget items; monitors and controls expenditures Prepares a variety of statistical, financial, and operational reports Performs other duties of a similar nature or level Positions assigned to Work Release may be responsible for: Interviewing prospective inmates for placement in the program Conducting site visits of businesses employing inmates Monitoring program funding and researching, evaluating, and recommending new sources of funding Positions assigned to Community Confinement may be responsible for: Supervising high-risk offenders released from incarceration on conditional bonds with GPS tracking

Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Human Behavioral Science, or related field and three to six years of community corrections experience, one of which was in a supervisory or administrative role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
