POSITION SUMMARY
The Developer Relationship Manager serves as the primary point of contact between Kai and our developer partners. This role is responsible for managing communication, aligning expectations, and ensuring a seamless experience during community development, transition, and ongoing support phases. The individual in this position must be solution-oriented, responsive, and deeply collaborative—able to anticipate needs, coordinate internal resources, and represent Kai’s values of Kindness, Action, and Innovation in every interaction. This position is highly visible and works closely with internal operations, communications, onboarding, and leadership teams to ensure developer satisfaction and long-term success of the communities we manage.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
(May include some or all of the following as applicable) Serve as the day-to-day liaison between Kai and assigned developer partners Lead onboarding and community launch processes in coordination with internal teams Track timelines and deliverables for community openings, turnover, and transition milestones Coordinate across departments (field services, community management, communications) to meet developer needs and expectations Attend developer meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs as needed Provide developers with regular updates and reports regarding their communities Ensure brand standards and service levels are upheld throughout development phases Respond to developer concerns and escalate issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution Help guide internal teams on developer expectations and priorities Maintain internal records, files, and documentation regarding each developer relationship Support the transition of communities from developer control to resident-led governance (HOA/CDD) Identify and flag opportunities for service improvement or expansion
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses:
High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Real Estate, or related field preferred CAM License preferred or willingness to obtain
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in developer relations, property management, project coordination, or related role Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Proactive problem-solving mindset with a calm, professional demeanor Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across various stakeholders Familiarity with real estate development processes or CDD/HOA governance preferred
Computer Literacy:
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Comfortable learning internal platforms and CRM tools
Language Requirements:
English required; additional language fluency is a plus
TRAVEL & AVAILABILITY
Ability to travel to development sites or meetings as needed Availability to respond to time-sensitive needs, including occasional after-hours coordination
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily indoor, professional setting with occasional outdoor visits to development sites Ability to sit, type, and work at a computer for extended periods Ability to walk development sites and navigate stairs or uneven ground
