Position Overview The Senior Controller will oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with financial regulations. This role is essential for strategic financial planning and decision-making, contributing to the overall financial health and sustainability of the company. Key Responsibilities Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
Manage budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning initiatives.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and provide insights for management decision-making.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax planning and auditing processes.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls and financial reporting systems.
Lead cost accounting efforts to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.
Supervise and mentor accounting team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and transparency.
Utilize ERP systems to streamline financial operations and reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
Must have 5+ years working in a Controller/Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager type role within the multi-family property management space.
Must have Yardi & App Folio experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, auditing standards, and tax compliance regulations.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Familiarity with internal controls and regulatory compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team effectively.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
