Job Description:
The Executive Director is totally responsible for the managementof the Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care communityand/or Skilled Nursing Facility. Also, ensures high qualityresident care services, within budgetary guidelines, while meetingor exceeding Harbor Retirement Associates, LLC, standards, andresponsible for compliance with federal, state, local and HRApolicies, procedures and regulations. The Executive Director isresponsible to lead the community by example exhibiting the COREValues through servant leadership.
Essential Functions:
InternalCommunity Relations:
Develops and implements community resident relations programs;solicits feedback from residents, families, and others to maintainand/or improve community hospitality and services. Establishes effective relationships with other communitydepartment heads to ensure high quality resident care whilefostering inter-departmental cooperation. Oversees and monitors nursing services (if applicable) toensure high quality nursing delivery systems. Monitors resident care on a daily basis; conducts daily rounds;implements quality assurance programs for all departments. Establishes positive rapport with regulatory agencies; keepsupdated on changes in federal, state, and local regulations. Oversees facility management of the community. Directs community safety and loss prevention program; monitorsadherence to safety rules and regulations and takes remedial actionwhen necessary. Contacts the resident’s family when a change in services isneeded. Leads and participates in a resident/family conference toreview changes in services. Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction. Assists in the development of the residence’s budget. Makes final decision on resident move-ins and move-outs basedon the well-being of the resident and in accordance with theresidence policies and procedures.
Financial:
Plans and develops operating budget within HRA guidelines. Regularly monitors department performance and analyzes thecommunity P&L status, taking corrective action whennecessary. Is prepared for and attends monthly P&L teleconferences asscheduled. Trains community management in pertinent cost controltechniques. Directs and monitors community inventory control systems. Responsible for managing all contracted services.
Marketing:
Maintains a high level of occupancy.
Associate Relations:
Oversees the recruitment, selection, retention and terminationof all community associates. Ensures adequate and effective orientation and training ofcommunity job-specific duties. Supervises and evaluates all community managers by providingongoing coaching and timely feedback. Ensures that all associates meet or exceed HRA’s standards ofappearance, sanitation and health standards. Establishes positive associate relations programs, recognitionprograms and practices. Oversees and manages the community compensation, recommendingwage increases and adjustments when necessary. Ensures that all staff maintains and protects theconfidentiality of resident information at all times. Provides an “open door” to associates and addresses anyconcerns and grievances within a timely manner and in accordancewith company standards. Ensures the appropriate handling of on-the-job injuries asreported by associates. Provides leadership and direction in the marketing of theresidence including developing relations with local referralsources. Represents the residence to the community, family members,and visitors and develops positive relations with allcustomers.
Non-Essential Functions:
Encourages teamwork and promotes company philosophy. Participates in Life Enrichment activities when able. Is prompt and able to perform the required duties of theposition on a regular, predictable basis. Becomes familiar and understands how to report a missing personusing the Safe Return program or equivalent. Becomes familiar and understands the steps for fireevacuation. All associates are responsible for maintaining a safe andsecure environment for all communityresidents.
Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree. Current s ECC and/or CORE Training certification as requiredand/or Community Residential Care Facility Administration(CRCF). Strong leadership skills with a minimum of two (2) years’experience in supervising and management. One to two years of experience using Microsoft Office andOutlook software. Mid-level typing skills required. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management,associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts,interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc. Able tomanage revenue and expense budget. Knowledge of current Federal and State laws pertaining to
IL,AL, MC, SNF
