$31K – $38.4K a year 12 hours ago Qualifications Veterinary experience Mid-level Veterinary clinic Full Job Description We are looking for a responsible, animal-savvy person with veterinary experience to become the Resident Manager (RM) at Georgia House Rabbit Society, a no-kill domestic rabbit rescue & shelter located near downtown Kennesaw! The RM lives at our Kennesaw shelter in their own apartment inside our building.
Their responsibilities include:
Feeding the bunnies (and guinea pigs) who are boarding at our facility, receiving medical care, or being quarantined due to in-process vaccination, no later than 10am, 7 days a week. Feeding and topping off hay and water for ALL animals on Sunday mornings (this includes the 90+ adoptable rabbits who are living at our shelter at any given time!) Morning and nightly checks of ALL animals to ensure eating, pooping, and normal rabbit (or guinea pig) behavior. Administering all medications and treatments for ill, quarantined, or injured animals at the designated time(s) before and after our business hours, when other staff is not there. Transporting animals to and from Windward Animal Hospital in Johns Creek for all needed vet care (once a week on average). Ensuring that greens (romaine lettuce, cilantro and parsley) are available for nightly salads. This will involve 1 to 2 trips a week to Restaurant Depot to purchase large, wholesale bins of greens with their GHRS credit card, and then transporting the greens back to the shelter. Being cross-trained to work in our facility’s store during open hours on Saturdays, 12pm-5pm, or to supervise volunteers on Saturdays, 9am-12pm. Being present at the shelter at all times during predicted storms or snow, to ensure that all animals are fed and safe.
Two important points:
The RM must have a working vehicle at all times, and the vehicle must have working air conditioning and heat at all times. Most of the RM’s responsibilities will take place outside of our business hours, when other staff is not present at the shelter.
What you receive in return:
The RM lives for free in their apartment in our building. They do not pay rent or utilities (we provide gas, electric, water, and internet). The RM receives $400 a month in additional compensation.
