Farmers Market Manager Peachtree Farm Peachtree Corners, GA 30092 Peachtree Farm is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit organization that provides vocational training for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities on a sustainable, urban farm. We are seeking a seasonal Farmers Market Manager to organize and operate a local farmers market for Peachtree Corners, GA. This is a part-time position requiring approximately 16 hours per week: 8 hours for weekday planning/preparation and 8 hours on Saturdays (approximately 6:30am-2:30pm) for market operations. Additional Friday morning availability is highly sought. Organizational Overview Peachtree Farm is a nonprofit urban farm that provides give adults with disabilities the opportunity to live, work and thrive. The Farm was founded in 2021 and has expanded farming operations to include a hydroponic tomato greenhouse, nursery production, chickens, and bees. Programs include prevocational training with adults with disabilities, high school community-based vocational training, field trips, farm tours, and summer camps. Market Planning and Community Engagement Develop and implement comprehensive operational plans for market days Complete all pre-season preparations, manage opening day logistics, oversee weekly operations, and handle end-of-season reporting Collaborate with staff and volunteers during weekly operation meetings for support and problem-solving Adapt quickly to incorporate new vendor opportunities and special events Build and maintain positive vendor relationships through clear communication Represent the market to community groups, local organizations, and businesses Develop collaborative partnerships to enhance market accessibility and inclusivity Market Day Operations Create a welcoming atmosphere for vendors, shoppers, and community members Oversee market setup and teardown, including managing site logistics, signage placement, and ensuring general safety Supervise vendors by providing constructive feedback and consistently enforcing market rules Manage the market in accordance with established policies and safety protocols Oversee food access programs with accurate record-keeping and support for vendors and shoppers Assist with on-site marketing initiatives, including sponsorships and seasonal programs Facilitate participation of community partners, musicians, nonprofits, and sponsors QualificationsRequired Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions in a fast-paced environment Physical ability to lift 25 pounds safely Access to reliable transportation for moving market materials Experience planning or managing events in professional or volunteer settings Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Supervisory experience Community outreach or relationship-building experience Must pass a background check Preferred Previous farmers market experience (sales or management) Local community connections Experience working with individuals with disabilities Adaptability and willingness to learn Creative problem-solving abilities Please Email Resume and Cover letter to: office@peachtreefarm.org 770.366.9589 with questions
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is frequently required to stand, walk, and engage in physically demanding work. The individual will be required to use hands for holding, grasping and feeling objects; reach with hands and arms; bend and squat. The individual will work inside and outside with others. At times, the work environment may be loud. May be exposed to extreme temperatures. Heavy lifting (50lbs) may be required as well as the use of a ladder and power tools.
