Summary:
The Residential Support Manager provides support to the Residential Living Department when there are vacancies in Residential Manager positions and provides coverage accordingly. This position will provide supervisory, employee, documentation and system oversight, and on-call responsibilities where needed. The primary function of this role is to fill in leadership openings, ensure consistency and quality of care, ensure consistency and quality of Bridgewell’s internal systems and to provide training, mentoring and support to the program employees.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm (40 hours per week)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Fulfill all duties and responsibilities as defined in the appropriate Residential Manager job description. Key areas of focus when covering for a Residential Manager include but are not limited to: Ensure program, agency, regulatory and accreditation standards are met regarding quality of care, including individual medical, behavior and treatment plans, data collection, ISP/Treatment Plan documentation, HCSIS/Virtual Gateway, eHana and other documentation as required. Ensure the staffing needs of the program are met based on defined ratios and attendance of the people served. This includes coordination of work schedules, hiring of new employees, and coordinating the use of per-diem and agency relief staff, as needed. Provide direct care in the absence of program employees , as needed. Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring opportunities to program employees by conducting monthly supervisions and regular team meetings, if applicable Give regular constructive feedback and recognition to program employees to further develop their skills and capabilities and foster an environment which promotes growth and development (if applicable). Provide timely Performance Evaluations, if applicable. Ensure performance standards are met, and proactively address performance concerns, working with program management and Human Resources, as appropriate. Ensure administrative duties are completed and followed as required in areas including: finance, human resources, payroll, quality assurance, electronic health records, Medication Administration Procedures, incident reporting, vehicle and facility maintenance, food stamps, social security, Mass Health, housing vouchers/section 8 applications and/or employment. Ensure self and employees maintain certifications (such as CPR/1st Aid, MAP, PPS and PABC, as required) and complete all other mandatory training requirements based on Bridgewell policies and the program’s funding sources. Create an environment that supports Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging based on Bridgewell’s DEIB statement and initiatives. Manage the financial responsibilities of the program, including program expenses, monitoring overtime, supply ordering and monthly budget review, if applicable. Ensure the confidentiality of Personal Health Information, records of people served, and other related information is in compliance with HIPAA, and other state or federal mandates. Role models the core philosophy of universal supports and promotes Bridgewell’s values: dignity, respect, caring, integrity, safety and wellness across their teams. Responsible for on-call coverage based on a rotating schedule for the assigned program, and/or cluster, as designated (if applicable). Work collaboratively with guardians, family members, all service providers and clinical and nursing teams to ensure the needs of the people served are met. Other duties as assigned
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Associate’s degree with a minimum of 3 years in a direct support role or significant industry experience, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, may be considered at the discretion of management. A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with people with disabilities is required. A minimum of 3 years of supervisory and team leadership experience is required.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Ability to set priorities for self and team in alignment with departmental goals. Ability to delegate tasks effectively, communicate expectations clearly, and establish deadlines. Ability to provide Coaching and mentoring to their team members to enhance their skills and performance. Strong writing skills and verbal communication skills. Ability to encourage employee engagement and ensure an inclusive work environment. Competent in technology to include the ability to coordinate entry into a data management system, use Microsoft Office products proficiently, and records management systems. Ability to be certified and maintain such certification, in
PPS, PABC
Tier 1 and 2, medication administration, First Aid/CPR and any other certification/training required based on program needs and Bridgewell policies and procedures. Must have a current US driver’s license and one year of driving experience.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of staff working in residential programs assisting people with their care needs are varied and require the employee to be able to maneuver people of varying weights, and provide lifting, balance support and physical intervention in several scenarios. Described below are essential requirements of staff to ensure the safety of employees and people served alike. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to: Climb stairs, physically assist people served, often weighing more than 200 pounds, with movement, bathroom routines including toileting, assisting with entry and exit of a tub or shower, getting into and out of wheelchairs or dealing with assists that include physical, behavioral and medical interventions. Additional lifting or moving may be required as part of activities in the daily living of people in our services.
