This entry-to-mid-level position supports the management of a portfolio of commercial properties and is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in real estate operations. You’ll work under the guidance of a Senior Property Manager, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of commercial property management, including budgeting, tenant relations, vendor coordination, financial reporting, and lease administration. This is a collaborative, fast-paced environment where attention to detail, clear communication, and a strong customer service mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Property Operations Assist in the day-to-day management of commercial properties to ensure quality, efficiency, and tenant satisfaction. Conduct routine property inspections and identify areas for improvement or maintenance. Support the implementation of capital and operational projects as outlined in annual budgets. Ensure lease obligations and building rules are consistently enforced. Tenant Relations Serve as a first point of contact for tenant inquiries and service requests, ensuring timely and courteous resolution. Coordinate tenant move-ins and move-outs, including walkthroughs, documentation, and scheduling vendors. Help maintain up-to-date tenant handbooks and digital records. Financial Support Assist with budget preparation, monthly financial reporting, and variance analysis. Track collections and support default proceedings as needed. Review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper coding before submitting for payment. Assist in completing Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and recoveries. Vendor & Contract Management Solicit and compare vendor bids for property services. Assist in managing vendor contracts, including service level monitoring and compliance checks. Help schedule and oversee vendor work on-site when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Prefer 1 year of experience in commercial property management or a related real estate field.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or related field preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Familiarity with property management software (Building Engines, Prism, Yardi, or similar) is a plus. Basic understanding of rent structures, including gross and triple net leases. Foundational knowledge of financial statements and reporting.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Strong time management and organizational abilities. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
