Full Job Description Position Description:
Housing for New Hope is seeking a Property Management Specialist to join our growing Property Management Team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day property operations across five properties, totaling over 100 units, with a secondary focus on accounting tasks related to rent collection, invoicing, and reporting.

Salaried, Non-exempt Property Related Responsibilities:
- Welcome and engage potential and current residents, vendors, and partners in a manner that ensures a positive and professional experience.
- Emphasis is placed on facilitating timely and helpful responses to inquiries received by phone, email, and social media including: o Monitor assigned agency voicemails o Monitor assigned agency shared mailboxes o Provide live phone support during critical times, including major lease-ups, community events, and transitional initiatives.
- Process rental applications, including generating credit reports, verifying rental references, and renter income. Follow up as needed until all required verification forms and supporting documents are received and completed.
- Collect and accurately post all rents and other revenue payments.
- Support all procedures related to the collection of rental payments including maintaining accurate tenant ledgers, requesting subsidy payments, management of security deposits, and executing processes for non-payment.
- Assess late fees on the 6th day of the month and distribute late notices.
- File warrants to start eviction procedures while ensuring timely communications with tenants regarding their status. Complete and distribute final account statements as per agency policy.
- Collect and submit documents needed for annual tenant recertification ensuring completion and storage procedures maintain compliance with external partners.
- Process vendor invoices for payments in a timely manner to ensure good standing with our service providers.
- Maintain property management database accuracy by ensuring timely updates in AppFolio, RCRS subsidy portal, DHA subsidy portal, and other systems as needed.
Financial Related Responsibilities:
- Complete bank deposits in accordance with agency established processes and timelines.
- Create new organizational systems to support accurate financial records and inventory of property-related assets.
- Support month-end closing, reconciliations, and the preparation of related reports to ensure the accuracy of property-related financial activity.
- Process additional financial transactions in Fastfund and BILL.com as needed.
- Perform other administrative duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- 1- 3 years relevant experience with administrative support, project management, database management, and/or accounts payable processing.
- Ability to use enterprise-level financial record keeping software systems, spreadsheets and email applications.
- 2+ years’ experience with accounting and property management software preferred
- Experience with Bill.com, Fastfund, RCRS, and/ or Appfolio, a plus
- Excellent knowledge of basic accounting concepts
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to support strong relationships with Housing for New Hope staff, partners, residents and community members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office365 software
- Compassion for people who are struggling with a variety of challenges, including homelessness, mental illness, and substance abuse.

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and abilities.
Annual Salary Range:
$45,000 – $50,000 Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Academic, MVR and criminal checks will be conducted before a final offer is made.
