The Clinic Nurse Manager performs clinical services (with the additional support of a Clinic LPN) and oversees both clinical and administrative operations within the clinic, working closely with the Clinic Nurse to ensure the highest standards of care. Hours are typically 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday; every other Saturday 8:30 a.m.-12:30p.m; Flex half a day off during the week when working half a Saturday. Duties and Responsibilities Manages the overall operation of the resident clinic providing clinical direction, expertise, and oversight to ensure quality nursing care for Independent Living residents as well as excellent customer service. Ensures compliance with all professional standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining accountability for safe, ethical, and legally sound nursing practice. (Escalating or getting support as needed from Healthcare Administrator or CHWO.) Manages and schedules Clinic LPN Nurse (and other staff if applicable) with Arbor Acres Leadership Philosophy in mind, to include working with CHWO to interview, onboarding, train, and manage performance, including providing coaching and supportive disciplinary guidance as needed to support professional standards and team effectiveness. Provides assessments for prospective and current residents: Prior to admission, in collaboration with other departments, to ensure appropriate placement and continuity of care. For temporary care/transfers to other care levels: Assess/ completes assessment documentation to support decisions and serves as a member of the Independent Living Level of Care team to ensure appropriate and timely care planning. Assists in managing temporary care admissions and discharges of Independent Living residents within the licensed area, monitoring updates from other departments. Performs clinical/resident support duties to include: Triaging follow-up appointments with the contract (offsite) physician or referral appointments made by the physician Scheduling lab work and obtaining test results to support timely/coordinated care. Consulting with residents and their families on medical concerns and functional abilities, offering case management in collaboration with the Continuing Care Department. Educating residents and their families on available clinical health services, including in-home care options, or home health, offering guidance, support, and education to promote well-being and informed decision-making. Coordinating necessary medical procedures and tests, ensuring timely receipt and review of results and reports. Collaborating with the clinical team at Fountain Hill Homecare to ensure accurate and efficient communication of all medication box orders, supporting safe and timely medication management for Independent Living homecare residents. Provides leadership in the planning, development, and continuous improvement of clinic operations, ensuring services align with resident needs and organizational goals. Actively promotes a positive perception of clinical and health services among residents to support trust, engagement, and satisfaction. Effectively supervises the transcription and verification of physician orders for Independent Living residents, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely implementation of medical directives. Monitors and participates in medication administration and treatments, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols, promoting resident safety, and supporting optimal therapeutic outcomes. Conducts daily follow-up on 24-hour emergency nurse responses from previous evening, as assigned. Oversees and ensures the seamless execution of administrative tasks for clinical business partners—such as dermatology, podiatry, and other on-site service providers. Ensures assigned Automated External Defibrillator (AED) checks are completed accurately and on schedule at designated locations across the campus, maintaining readiness and compliance with safety protocols. Provide basic first aid and assessments of work-related injuries and coordinate care to outside healthcare agencies. Assist in supporting wellness activities on campus, jointly with other departmens. Serve as the emergency nurse responder for Independent Living residents, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., when a first responder is unavailable. Assesses situations and provides appropriate emergency care as needed. Minimum Experience At least 2+ years of administrative/management experience, as well as at least 2+ years of experience as an LPN/RN, offering clinical services. Experience working with older adults is strongly preferred. Successful completion of a Registered Nursing (RN) program accredited by a recognized nursing accreditation body, with eligibility for licensure by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Minimum Education Successful completion of a Registered Nursing (RN) program accredited by a recognized nursing accreditation body, with eligibility for licensure by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. License and/or Certification Required Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of North Carolina. Current CPR certification is required.
