Doing:
Coordinate the Voucher Journey Guide applicants through the entire Housing Choice Voucher process from approval through move-in Oversee the intake and lease-up process for all voucher holders Prioritize and resolve high-urgency HCV cases, especially those stuck between approval and move-in Documentation & Compliance Accurately prepare and submit required documents (e.g., RFTA packets, lease agreements, tenancy addendums) to Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) Ensure all applications and documentation are submitted on time and are fully compliant with HUD and local regulations Maintain detailed resident records and track critical dates, including recertifications, inspections, and rent changes Respond quickly to inquiries from Housing Authorities and resolve any discrepancies or compliance issues Resident & PHA Relations Act as the primary contact for voucher residents regarding program rules, lease terms, recertifications, and rent questions Support residents by explaining rent portions, utility allowances, and responding to Housing Authority notices Build and sustain strong working relationships with local PHAs, inspectors, and support services Internal Collaboration & Inspections Work with Construction and Maintenance teams to pass inspections and ensure smooth move-ins Partner with the Collections and Renewals teams on HCV-related issues, including contract renewals and non-payment reporting Keep all databases (ERMS/Ender, SmartSheet) current and accurate with comprehensive HCV documentation Projects & Continuous Learning Stay informed on the latest HUD guidelines and PHA updates Contribute to special projects and support additional duties as needed Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in property management , with a specialization in Housing Choice Vouchers At least 3 years of team management experience Deep knowledge of HUD guidelines and Housing Authority processes Proven ability to build strong relationships with residents, internal teams, and PHAs Experience with Yardi or other property management software , plus strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Excellent verbal and written communication abilities High attention to detail with top-notch organizational and time-management skills A proactive, self-motivated, and solution-oriented mindset This is an office-based position in Charlotte, NC, and requires in-office attendance five days a week, Monday through Friday .
