Assistant Property Manager Meli Corporation 51 Cleveland Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Property Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the property management team by ensuring the smooth operation of our residential or commercial properties. This position requires strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to property management tasks. Responsibilities Proven experience in apartment leasing with a strong understanding of rental cycles and tenant relations Ability to collect, analyze, and report on market comparable to help determine competitive pricing strategies Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities efficiently Skilled in reviewing, processing, and verifying rental applications, including credit/background checks and income verification Utilize AppFolio software for tracking leases, payments, and maintenance requests. Coordinate property maintenance requests and communicate effectively with vendors and contractors. Address tenant inquiries and concerns promptly, demonstrating strong phone etiquette and conflict management skills.. Assist in negotiating lease agreements and renewals with prospective tenants. Qualifications Previous experience in real estate administration or property management is preferred. Familiarity with NJ/NY Housing regulations is a plus. Proficiency in AppFolio or similar property management software is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and file management. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette. Ability to manage conflicts effectively and negotiate solutions that benefit both tenants and the property owner. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and maintaining property standards.
