POSITION

: House Manager

REPORTS TO

: Residential Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY

The House Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of the Residential Direct Support Professionals while supporting the needs of the people living in the residential setting. This position is also responsible for daily oversight of the operation of the home, medication management (if applicable) and the dissemination of information to DSPs when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee and manage member services in compliance with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and ensure community outings are occurring at the frequency desired by the members
  • Provide oversight to ensure DSPs are working to assist the members in achieving their stated outcomes and goals
  • Oversee the healthcare management of the members and ensure all required doctor’s appointments are scheduled and documented appropriately in Therap
  • Complete unannounced visits of the home to ensure the home is kept to the standard required by Golden Years.
  • Complete regular checks of the medication supply and update Residential Manager of any findings or discrepancies.
  • Ensure monthly fire drills and quarterly disaster drills are completed and/or assigned to designated DSPs to complete with all members
  • Monitor and review daily notes, checking for both completion and thoroughness. Provide the Residential Manager with an update of any concerns or missing notes.
  • Ensure menus are completed weekly or monthly and adhered to by staff. Report any issues to Residential Manager in a timely manner
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues or damages to the home to the Residential Manager immediately
  • Ensure adequate shift coverage and assist with covering shifts when needed
  • Ensure activity calendars are completed for any member who requires a calendar and/or any other members who request an activity calendar be completed
  • Ensure cleanliness of the home, by tracking and ensuring completion of the daily shift cleaning checklist. Cleanliness can be verified by unannounced home visits, virtual calls, or requesting pictures from staff.
  • Adhere to all Golden Years Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to complete all job duties listed in the Golden Years Direct Support Professional Job Description
  • All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site
  • Valid US Work Authorization
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, and all required registry checks
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification from an approved entity
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to work in a team environment.
  • Exceptional time management, leadership, and detail oriented organizational skills
  • Has the ability to pursue opportunities independently and resolve challenges quickly
  • A work style that is respectful, honest, and transparent
  • Has the ability to take ownership and responsibility for decisions and outcomes, be undeterred by change, delays or unexpected events, and the ability to change approach or method to best fit the situation, and the ability to inspire other to be adaptable to change
  • Patience, reliability, and a commitment to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Able to read and understand instructions, perform electronic record keeping, and write reports and daily notes as required
  • Effectively read, write, and communicate verbally in English
  • Must be able to complete electronic training required by the Department of Disability and Aging in the Relias system
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
