Duties:
To identifychanges and trends in healthcare computer and systems technologyand interpret their meaning to senior management. To participate inoverall business planning and manage the health informationtechnology budget, and many large project budgets, for a largeacademic medical center.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversees all department financial functions such as operationalplanning, capital planning, annual UA IT plan, budgeting,reporting, and controls. Leads the process of compiling information for the annual ITplan for the UA Board of Trustees. Provides oversight of anygeneral administrative support to the IT function/department. Establishes, maintains, monitors, and reports expense budgetswithin corporate financial policies using accounting/budgetingcontrols, standards, guidelines, and tools. Oversees the financial tracking of large projects and majorinitiatives (for example, Epic HER). Develops, documents, and maintains an annual budgeting plan andrepeatable process. Develops and maintains accurate chargeback models and reportingfor IT services provided. Develops and leads the implementation and maintenance of allvendor management functions. Oversees the purchasing and procurement processes for thedepartment. Oversees the management of contracts and vendor relationshipsfor the IT function. Establishes the standards, procedures, and guidelines thatdirect all aspects of IT vendor management, consistent withcorporate procurement and financial policies and controls. Partners with HSIS Project and Planning Services (PPS) andother multi-departmental leadership and stakeholders to locateopportunities and develop and prioritize project plans and projectbudgets and tracking mechanisms according to relevantrequirements. Represents Health System Information Services as part of theHospital Leadership Team. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Master’sdegree in information systems, finance, accounting, business, or arelated field and ten (10) years of related experience required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for educationrequirement.

Strong financial management skills with the ability to meetdeadlines and manage multiple tasks. Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in adynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to lead others in team projects. Demonstrated organizational, analytical, writing, andinterpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and/or resolve issues affectinghealthcare systems. Experience with financial planning, financial analysis, andP&L statements and reporting is preferred. Demonstrated expertise within healthcare financial operations,systems, and settings.
