Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Resident Services Coordinators (RSC) primary function is to perform program and administrative tasks according to HUD regulations and YWCAs policies. The RSC is responsible for processing annual and interim re-certifications, determining eligibility for housing assistance, receiving Housing Assistance Payments (HAP), and maintaining accurate and complete records for all residents ensuring compliance with the highest standards while also providing exceptional supportive services in a domestic violence transitional and permanent housing setting. All activities must support the YWCAs Mission and Vision.
ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONSThe position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties, and skills may be required and assigned as needed
- Review and verify documents and third-party income information from residents at all YWCA properties to ensure compliance with all governing agencies
- Calculate rents, HAP amounts, and utility reimbursements promptly and accurately
- Manage rent collection, including but not limited to posting rent payments, payment arrangements, delinquency notices and reporting and eviction preparation
- Process annual and interim recertifications and rent increases
- Conduct eligibility determinations, including income calculations, family composition reviews, and affordability assessments
- Manage application and recertification files, maintaining organized filing systems and entering data into property management software providing statistical information as needed
- Perform audits of tenant files and correct discrepancies as needed
- Assist with third-party audits and site visits by preparing files and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with the Resident Services Case Manager connecting residents to services offered at YWCA Family Resource Center (FRC)
- Coordinate and/or conduct initial, annual, special and quality control inspections for all residential properties
- Perform wellness checks for residents as needed
- Assist with the facilitation of any tenancy meetings, events and/or functions
- Provide on-call emergency assistance for any unforeseen circumstances associated with tenancy and housing occurring during off-hours.“`{=html}“
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field from an accredited college or university.“`{=html}“
- Three years experience providing direct services to individuals, children, and families.“`{=html}“
- E xperience in property management, public housing, the Housing Choice Voucher Program, or a closely related public service agency/entity is desired
- Strong computer skills (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.“`{=html}“
- Valid drivers license and automobile insurance if applicable for job function.
