Job Summary/Basic Function:
Manage overall business affairs for the College of Science and Mathematics and the College of Graduate Programs and Honors Studies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or a closely related field; at least 7 years of related work experience OR a master’s degree, and 5 years of related experience.
Advanced knowledge of budgeting; accounting principles; personal computer applications.
May require specialized knowledge in a particular field of work.
Skill in written and interpersonal communication.
Ability to communicate effectively with all components of the University and external constituents.
Manage people and projects. Preferred Qualifications MBA.
Experience with university computer systems including Banner, WINGS Express, COGNOS, PeopleAdmin. etc. Essential Functions and percent of time: Direct and oversee activities related to budgeting and financial management. Oversee budgetary controls and policy compliance; provide complex budget/financial analysis and planning. Develop, review and manage budgets which include annual, augmentations and capital; audit finances of restricted budgets; manage and conduct financial analyses and projections on all internal and external funds. Authorize, monitor and review monthly expenditures; plan and coordinate major capital expenditures. May develop and direct the primary functions related to the financial and budgetary affairs in the absence of the management (50%). Advise management team on appropriate mechanisms to achieve fiscal objectives while also working to identify cost savings and efficiencies (10%). Design fiscal processes for and provide leadership to assigned staff. Development/management of benchmarking processes (10%). Work closely with various units to collaborate on issues regarding fiscal matters including but not limited to human resources, payroll, provost and budget (20%). Conduct special studies/research in the assigned function; collect and analyze data as required. (5%).
