Job Summary:

 The Director of Career Center Programming provides leadership for all aspects of career education, assessment, and advising. Provides direct supervision for Career Center Program Managers and Career Advisors. Ensures all aspects of career education, assessment, and advising are consistent with NACE guidelines and that best practices are identified and implemented. Provides leadership of the Career Center in the Executive Director’s absence.

Additional Department Summary:

 Provides leadership for all aspects of career education, assessment and advising. Provides direct supervision for Program Managers and Career Consultants. Ensures all aspects of career education, assessment and advising are consistent with NACE guidelines and that best practices are identified and implemented. Collaborates with faculty, staff, students, employers, alumni and to ensure quality career exploration, preparation and networking opportunities take place. Promotes respectful and participation of individuals and organizations to success. Completes required training that is related to laws and regulations, that creates a more hospitable and respectful workplace; and safer work environment. Holds staff accountable for completion of required training. Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree or higher and five (5) years of experience in career services or counseling.

Skills and Knowledge:

 Knowledge of career development, assessment and experiential education. Ability to motivate and supervise staff. Highly developed interpersonal, human relations, and communication skills. Creative ability to think outside the norm of traditional career paths. Organizational and multi-tasking management skills. Ability to build relationships with campus partners and constituents. Skills in external relations. Demonstrates commitment to supporting all students. Fluency in using technology and data to develop new approaches to improving work loads and innovative solutions to challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Experience in supervising and developing team members. Proficiency using career management software platforms. Budget experience. Supervisory experience and a commitment to career readiness.
