The Role:
The SAIL Program Director is responsible for the administrative oversight of the SAIL Program. A member of the CHSC Management Team, the SAIL Program Director is responsible for the creation and implementation of all programming and support provided to all SAIL residents. General responsibilities include supervising two SAIL Program Managers and a SAIL Program Case Manager. The Director is responsible for the coordination of services with DDS and compliance relative to CARF accreditation. The Director, along with the SAIL program managers, will work to ensure that all SAIL residents live a self-determined life with goals and a team supporting their vision. The Director, in collaboration with SVP Community Programs, is responsible for the growth & development of the program, including strategic planning, staff training & development, Benchmarking, Outcomes and identifying the needs and trends facing our aging population.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, training, and supervision to SAIL program staff and managers. Oversee daily operations and quality assurance efforts, ensuring compliance with DDS standards, accreditation, and internal benchmarks. Collaborate cross-departmentally with key staff including the SLP Director, Admissions Director, Recreation Director, and SVP of Community Programs. Support staff development through onboarding, policy training, and mentorship. Participate in strategic planning, audits, and emergency preparedness, and attend individual and family team planning meetings. Provide direct support to residents as needed, promoting wellness, nutrition, budgeting, safety, and relationship-building. Ensure accurate documentation, including incident reports, safety drills, and annual reviews. Manage bi-weekly payroll and PTO requests for SAIL staff. Maintain professional communication with families, guardians, medical professionals, and other stakeholders. Participation in the administrative on-call rotation is required.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, and/ or 3+ years’ experience working with adults with cognitive or social disabilities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proven leadership and supervisory experience in human services or a related field. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Cultural competence and the ability to work with diverse populations. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid Connecticut driver’s license required. Valid DDS med-certification Do not meet every single requirement?
