Job Description

Research Manager III | Ortho Downtown | Days Jacksonville, Florida Management & Supervision 50333 Assists with project planning and ensure that established work scope, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are prepared and followed. Collaborates with staff and other clinical professionals to accomplish department objectives. Oversees and coordinates the provision of administrative and staff services to investigators, develops and maintains record keeping systems and procedures. May supervise personnel engaged in testing and research.
Responsibilities Essential Functions

  • Engages in continuing education of research policies/guidelines and educates faculty and staff as necessary.
  • Assign research protocols and other research related tasks to personnel with consideration to, aptitude and patient load. Assess and reassign job duties for research personnel as necessary.
  • Assume responsibility for coordinating at least 1-2 studies, scheduling and conducting research visits, completing, CRF’s and handling all other study related activities as needed.
  • Oversees and directs the research employee management activities including interviewing, hiring, training and coaching, counseling, evaluating and disciplining.
  • Coordinate pre-study and site initiation visits and sponsors, completing Feasibility Assessments and ensuring preparatory documents, including financial, demographic and pharmacy related forms are submitted in accordance with sponsor requirements.
  • Provide administrative and fiscal review and oversight of research budgets and financial reporting procedures; monitoring and controlling expenditures.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of procedures and results
  • Perform some analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and preparation of reagents.
  • Perform basic molecular genetic techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR, sequencing, etc.

)

Qualifications Experience Requirements:

3 years Management Experience required
3 years Progressive Research Experience – Molecular Technology required
Bachelors Biology, Chemistry or a related field required
Masters Public Health Science or Health and Administration preferred
5-8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree will be considered
