Fort Myers, FL Residential construction experience will not be considered Full-time | Contract Preparation & Negotiation | Public Sector Focus Schwing Bioset is seeking a Municipal / Commercial Contract Manager with deep experience in heavy construction, equipment supply, and municipal contract administration. This role is ideal for someone who has worked with public works contracts, infrastructure projects, and large-scale commercial construction — especially within the water, wastewater, or utility sectors. We are not looking for candidates with residential, homebuilding, or renovation contract backgrounds. Why This Role Matters You will manage the full lifecycle of contracts for high-impact municipal infrastructure projects. Your contributions ensure regulatory compliance, reduced risk exposure, and smooth execution of multi-million-dollar public contracts. You’ll be a key liaison across engineering, legal, procurement, and project management teams. Must-Have Experience ✅ Proven experience with municipal or large commercial construction contracts (e.g., public utilities, treatment plants, heavy equipment supply) ✅ Experience with contract types such as lump sum, design-build, cost-plus, and equipment supply agreements ✅ Understanding of municipal procurement processes and contract risk management ❌ No residential construction experience — this role is strictly public-sector/commercial focused Key Responsibilities Contract Development & Negotiation Review RFPs, RFQs, and public solicitations for risk and compliance Lead or support contract negotiations with municipalities and contractors Draft and interpret construction and supply contracts in line with municipal law and standards Contract Administration Oversee multiple high-value contracts and maintain critical timelines, deliverables, and compliance Prepare change orders, amendments, extensions, and compliance documentation Maintain thorough and accurate contract files Risk Management & Legal Coordination Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies Interface with legal teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Project Support & Internal Alignment Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Project Managers Ensure contract execution aligns with project delivery goals and compliance requirements Performance & Payment Oversight Review payment applications and resolve claims, disputes, or variation requests Monitor vendor/contractor performance and maintain KPI tracking

Preferred Qualifications Education:

Degree in Construction Management, Law, Engineering, or related field

Experience:

3-5+ years in municipal, civil, or commercial contract management

Background:
