Budget Specialist 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Doral, FL 33126 Youth Co-Op, Inc., a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the social and economic conditions of youth, adults, families, refugees and immigrants in South Florida, is seeking a Budget Specialist to develop our organization’s budgets, oversee budget implementation, and prepare financial documents and reports. The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Accounting or Finance and is familiar with legal regulations of accounting and budgeting, have ability to combine excellent numeracy skills with the ability to analyze and present complex data, be able to use critical thinking to create financial forecasts, and make budgeting decisions, plan, evaluate, design and implement our organization’s budget, ensuring growth and compliance with the law. Responsibilities Design effective budget models for departments and the entire organization; Analyze financial information (e.g. revenues, expenditures and cash management) to ensure all operations are within budget; Present annual budgets to senior managers; Review budget requests for approval; Forecast future budget needs; Identify variances between actual and budgeted financial results at the end of each reporting period; Suggest spending improvements; Review the company’s budget for compliance with legal regulations; Ensure department managers meet budget submission deadlines; Design and implement effective budgeting policies and procedures, records, methods, and procedures. Recommends and evaluates changes or enhancements to financial management systems and policies; Assists in assuring that organization’s records and processes are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles; Coordinates accounting matters with other departments; Develops and/or recommends accounting methods and procedures as needed; Requirements and skills Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with major in accounting or finance, or equivalent; 2-5 years professional work experience in accounting or finance, including responsibility for creating and monitoring a budgets exceeding $30M. Hands-on experience with accounting software and statistical packages, knowledge of MS Excel (specifically, advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts). Familiarity with forecasting methods and data analysis, excellent numeracy skills with an attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collegially in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish preffered.
