Direct Care Position Reports to: Chief Program Officer The Director of Program Services plans, directs, coordinates, supervises, and monitors the administration of all Orlando programs including but not limited to transitional living, outreach, supportive services, and operations. The Director is responsible for supervising the staff and facilities, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. The Director of Program Services utilizes a strengths-based, harm reduction framework, using trauma-informed practices and value working within a multi-disciplinary team to create a safe inclusive environment for all.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for ensuring that Covenant House Florida’s philosophy of care and policies and procedures are fully implemented. Responsible for the administration of the Orlando site programs, program services, staffing and Supervision, budget including monthly updates to CFO, and grant implementation. Provide on-going analysis of youth needs, program services, and gaps in services to ensure that appropriate objectives are established and implemented for all program components. Develops, implements, and enhances programs to effectively meet the needs of the youth and community needs. Provides leadership and direct supervision to the program coordinators. Responsible for guiding, training, and evaluation of staff to ensure high quality of service delivery and routine compliance with required regulations. Oversight of the program’s building and facilities, as it relates to maintenance, improvements, space planning, and emergency plans. Serve as a leader in the community to promote program services through public speaking, events, and participating in the continuum of care workgroups and meetings. Works collaboratively with the Chief Financial Officer to process financial and business records. Responsible for ensuring data integrity related to ETO and funder data portals. Works collaboratively with the development team to schedule tours and corporate events. Consistently maintain an effective line of communication with the Covenant House Florida Administration, including the accurate and timely provision of all required documentation, payroll information, and reports related to the Orlando Program activities. Provides leadership and direction to program staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Collaborates with the Human Resources Department in recruiting, training, and evaluating staff, as well as providing ongoing support and development. Responsible for directly serving as Administrator on Call and assigning as necessary to ensure an administrator level staff is always available for the team. Educate the community as to the Mission of Covenant House Florida. Assist with educating CHF volunteers to the Philosophy of Care to work effectively with the youth. Crisis prevention and intervention while adhering to agency protocol for responding, reporting, and seeking support.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in human services required, master’s degree preferred. Five years of progressively responsible experience administering social service programs including accounting functions, preferably in an organization that works with youth and three years of supervisory experience.
SCHEDULE
Ability to work evenings and weekends as directed in cases of crisis, natural disasters, program youth or staff issues, budget and grant deadlines, holiday programs, and special events. Requires flexibility with weekly work schedule to meet needs of youth.
SKILLS:
Must be well organized and have excellent communication skills as demonstrated by concise, timely and professional correspondence, both written and verbal. Ability to manage a free-standing program (including budget, staffing, facilities, operations and supervision of staff and participants); demonstrated ability to direct an effective case management system with clients and modify that system as client needs require; demonstrated success in working with community groups in Central Florida; and strong communication skills (written and verbal). Demonstrated ability to mentor, motivate, lead, coach supervise, and evaluate personnel. Must be a self-starter and team player with the ability to work with others while communicating respect, mutual support, honesty, and caring to all youth and team members. Demonstrated understanding of conflict resolution skills and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations and computer literacy is required.
TRANSPORTATION
: Valid FL driver’s license and good driving record, required. This position transport youth and team members if required using agency transportation.
