This role requires someone who can lead from the front, roll up their sleeves, and manage real work—whether it’s a modular housing development in Alabama or building wraparound services for families in crisis. You’ll manage programs and real estate development in sync, making sure the community impact is real, measurable, and lasting. Key Responsibilities Program Management Develop, implement, and scale trauma-informed and disability-focused programs Supervise staff across behavioral health, workforce, and wellness departments Monitor and report on outcomes, KPIs, and grant deliverables Maintain full compliance with all state and federal program regulations Housing & Real Estate Oversight Oversee modular housing projects , mobile home park revitalizations, and container home developments in partnership with our Real Estate and Development Team Coordinate permitting, site selection, vendor oversight, and construction timelines Ensure all housing initiatives align with VWF’s mission and serve veterans, seniors, and underserved families Partner with architects, contractors, local governments, and funders to manage project pipelines and build timelines Lead development planning, environmental compliance, and impact reporting Financial Management Develop and manage multi-program budgets and housing development budgets Track program-specific funding streams and align spending to deliverables Support grant writing and reporting for government and private funders Stakeholder Engagement Maintain strong working relationships with community leaders, city officials, and agency partners Act as a public face of VWF at local, regional, and national convenings Drive collaborative partnerships to scale VWF’s work across housing, health, and economic recovery Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Real Estate, Public Administration, or related field ( Master’s preferred ) Minimum 5-7 years experience in program oversight with direct impact on underserved populations Strong track record managing housing or real estate development projects in the nonprofit, municipal, or impact investment sector Deep knowledge of behavioral health, disability services, and trauma recovery Experienced in supervising teams, managing vendors, and holding people accountable Proficient in budgeting, compliance, and grant reporting Able to balance fieldwork and strategic leadership Excellent written, verbal, and relationship-building skills Why VWF?
