Valdosta and Coffee[]{#docs-internal-guid-65b4db2b-7fff-dc2a-b27d-34d5d6eebca5}The Program Director is responsible for coordinating all academic aspects of a technical program. This position provides programmatic leadership to achieve the program standards of an accredited program of study to include classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction, identifying appropriate resources and teaching methods, and evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Specifically, the Program Director will be responsible for the didactic and clinical experience in accordance with CoAEMSP Standards and Guidelines. The Program Director of Paramedicine also serves as a program instructor.

Probability of working beyond the normal shift, but not frequently. Periodic travel between major Wiregrass campuses and satellite sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSA
minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related profession, EMS, education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education; Current unencumbered Georgia Paramedic licensure; Current National Registry Paramedic certification (or able to obtain within six months); Current Georgia EMS Instructor/Coordinator (Paramedic) license; Three (3) years’ pre-hospital experience in a department that primarily responds to 911 calls for assistance; Current certification as an
AHA ACLS
provider and/or instructor, Advanced Pediatric certification (PALS, EPC, or PEPP) provider and/or instructor, and AHA BLS Healthcare provider and/or instructor; Documented education or experience in instructional methodology for initial or continuing education program; Academic training and experience equivalent to that of a paramedic; Knowledge about the current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Standards, and about evidenced-informed clinical practice.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the highly desired candidate will possess one or more of the following: A Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education and/or prior experience in development,administration and evaluation of a CoAEMSP-accredited Paramedic/EMT program or continuing education course; Leadership experience as an Emergency Medical Service Field Training Officer, Lieutenant, Captain, Supervisor or administrative officer for a 911 EMS provider, Fire Service Engine or Ladder Company Officer, or Fire Service Training Officer; and Certification or licensure as an Advanced Practice Paramedic (i.e. CCP-C, FP-C, TP-C, or CP-C).SALARY/BENEFITSSalary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is full-time and includes standard State of GA benefits such as leave accrual, options for health and other supplemental benefits, and retirement. This position may qualify the successful candidate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
